Princeton Named Among Best Places to Start a Business in Indiana
NerdWallet considers business climate and local economic health

San Francisco, CA (July 9, 2015) – NerdWallet, a consumer finance website, has conducted a study to find the best places in Indiana to start a business – and Princeton ranked thirteenth.

To determine this ranking, NerdWallet examined 99 places in Indiana with populations of 5,000 or more and analyzed the following factors:

  • Business climate
    • Average revenue of businesses
    • Percentage of businesses with paid employees
    • Businesses per 100 people
    • Local economic health
      • Median annual income
      • Median monthly housing costs
      • Unemployment rate

Princeton ranks steadily across numerous factors examined in NerdWallet’s report. With a population of 8,620, the 882 businesses maintain average revenue per business of $630,088. Among the higher of the list, nearly 39% of these businesses have paid employees. There are also over ten businesses per 100 people in the city, contributing to a strong and stable business climate for Princeton.  See the full study here.
